Re: [ATM] (not) grinding with diamond

I tried this on both blades. The diamond easily cut through the dressing
stick. It also easily cut a piece of scrap glass held freehand against
the cutting surface.

I haven't tried marker yet. There are no wear marks on either the steel
or aluminum blade, except possibly right at the edge where the blade meets
the diamond. I was expecting that the blade would only cut on the extreme
edge, so this portion wouldn't be in contact, but there may be enough flex
in the system. I'll try the marker tonight to get a better idea of where
there's contact. If it is rubbing on the non-diamond portion, what do I
do about it? I undercut as much as I could on the second blade, using a
scraper on a wood lathe. I don't have the means to machine the steel one.

Should I speed it up?

See above

Good to know because the next job will be pyrex. However the current one
is plate.
