Re: [ATM] Tri-dob website is finally up! HONEST!

Wow, wow, wow! Now THAT is a nice web site of a beautiful telescope.
I love the design of the 16". Simple, elegant, low cost, functional. This
is what a telescope should be.

I do have one question for Dave and the group. From a purely funtional
standpoint, is a Tri-dob that does not add additional weights bigger or
smaller than a more conventional lightweight dob? In other words, if the
center of the bearings must be at the center of mass, the bearings have to
be the same size - right? So, the bearings end up being the same size -
right?

For instance, is a Tri-dob from the following pictures inherently smaller
than the non tri-dob?
(First is from Mel Bartel's beautiful Tri-Dob,
http://www.bbastrodesigns.com/tm/trilateral/trilateral.html)
(Second is from Stathis Kafalis's http://www.stathis-firstlight.de/atm/
site.)

Thanks!
