[ATM] dob motor.

Hi All;
 
Well,, I was at Radio shack the other day picking up some
paret for my tester,, and I spotted a package that had 
from what I could tell, a circuit-board,various small parts,
for$ 59.95,,and a Very nice Booklet for the project enclosed.,
It was called a "PIC circuit for controlling a stepper or a servo-motor."
further writting on the package, said it was for 
Robotics projects,,,,, Hhhhmmmmm, I thought,
my be of use for a dob driver-kit??
 
Question;
has anyone seen this and does it have a use in our field.
Im not lazy and I love to learn, read and tinker,,, but
Im "math and electro-challenged" I just know the basics,
Is this kit  too-advanced for me?,,, If its not too advanced
I sure would like to learn!!
 
Any comments?,,,help,,,etc..,,
