You are now chasing pits around the mirror's surface.  The pits you find now
are large in area but generally not deep in depth as they chipped in a
fairly shallow chip across the surface.  A higheer power inspection will
show this.  There was a reason why I told you to only do the pit search
twice as the pits will usually just wander about after that.
It is now time to go to the next grit size.
