Re: [ATM] Can a Trilateral Dob be computer Operated?

Hello Kevin,

Is it a question I also asked myself recently.

As I see it, it can very well be done. I would place the
altitude motor and roller in contact to the middle bearing.
Then, a nice thing is that you may very well fix the azimuth
motor close to the altitude one, such that *it rotates with
the "rocker"*. I guess it is just a matter of sign in the
software, and practically speaking, you have all motor
connections in one bunch. OK the whole rotates with the scope
which might be a problem, but you have this one anyway with
the altitude part of a conventional design.
I hope this is clear enough (sorry, my English is more or less OK, but
apparently
more often "less" than I would wish)...

Clear skies

Hugues
