Re: [ATM] Refractor Lens Cell

HI,

I meant a cell with push-pull screws to align it to the tube. I mean to have the cell machined, but a simple cell with no alignment options is alot easier and cheaper than a two part cell! I've have not set up a web site yet on my ATM activities. I do have it planned for the near future. The only real problem I have run into so far was stanning of the F2 when I masked it with the brown packing tape so I could polish the other side. I left it overnigh and when I removed the tape I say three dark lines on the glass where the edges of the tape met the glass!! I will have to repolish that side later on.

Regards,

Alfredo

I would *certainly* recomend a cell that would allow you to align the lens
assembly with the tube. If you are asking about a cell to allow for alignment
of the crown and flint, that may be a bit more forgiving in a Fraunhofer (I
really don't know), but my experience suggests life is easier if this can be
done.
BTW, do you have any details of your grinding/polishing/testing process posted
anywhere, such as on a Web site? I have made a couple of objectives and would
love to see how you went about it. I'm always ready to learn. :))
