I really don't understand why so many use the digest version of the list.
The losses are that you have to do a bit of work to post to the thread and
that you lose the threading of the posts on your machine.  I usually keep
about a month's worth of postings in the Deleted box so I can go back and
reread where things have been on a thread that I'm interested in and by
looking at the subject line, I can remove posts from the inbox that I'm not
interested in (like the recent RTV issue) without having to read past them.
I'll also note that the individual posts will all be grouped together if you
get them as seperate posts and all up to date.
I can see where those outside of the country that pay bit rates will prefer
to use the digest version to just save a few pennies but when the mail is
part of the package and not a variable of the cost of the web, why?  I'll
entertain priveate discussions on this subject.
