Clyde Tombaugh tested underground but I don't think the cave was built
specifically for mirror testing.

About 15 years or so ago Clyde Tombaugh was at the Stellafane convention in
Springfield VT.  He was definitely the most memorable and interesting of all
the speakers I've seen there. He was a most remarkable person.
