Re: [ATM] Artificial-star w/fiber-optics

 Hi John,

A very bright point source can be made by removing the collimating lens on a laser pointer. I remove the lens with a hacksaw.

Subject: [ATM] Artificial-star w/fiber-optics

Hi All,

In my quest for a test with the abbilities of a star-test
but without the restriction of atmospheric-interferrance.
I think I have found a Happy-medium!
rummageing-thru my 6ft high stack of old
"Astronomy issues" , allas! but what did I see, a ray of hope!
[parden the pun],
In "issue July 1994" a description of how to make
an "Artificial-star" with "Fiber-optics" and instructions on how to-use!!
YES!,,oh bliss! ,, "science doth prove itself" for me again.
The "ATM Goddess" she doth have pity on me..,, mear-mortal.
She Doth shine Her cadence upon me !!
I will " sacrifice" a piece of optic in Her name!
[boy do I feel good]

Any comments on my new-found test??
please feel free!!

John Moore
