Re star testing,

Doing star tests in real time by eye can be difficult
if the atmosphere is not steady. It occurred to me that if you
have a CCD camera, you can take a series of out-of-focus images
using long enough exposures to average out the rapid atmospheric
blurring. The CCD images would then show the zones etc more clearly.
It might also be possible by someone smarter than myself to analyze
the images quantitatively to deduce the true figure of the mirror.
