As a former computer programmer I understand the frustration of trying to
write code for a program where the user only has a vague idea of what is
needed.  It becomes a design as you go project.  For my own use, there are
a number of exceptional programs already written that fulfill the basic
needs of the ATM'er as far as testing and analyzing the test results.
You want a programming challenge?  Write a program that shows, in graphic
detail, exactly how to correct a problem with a mirror.  This should
illustrate in animation, the stroke necessary to fix the problem and explain
why the stroke works and what happened to cause the problem in the first
place. It should have the ability to accept input for the specs of the
mirror, the working conditions, etc. That should keep you busy for the next
year or two.
