The mirror will be a major project for an individual to do but is doable.
Plan on glass handling equipment to handle that 300lb. of weight as you're
not going to be lifting that glass by hand anywhere!  In addition, plan on a
grinding machine as you are not going to be wanting to deal with the huge
amount of work necessary to move the tool about on the mirror.  Needless to
say, you're not going to be pushing the glass about on top of the tool!
Even if you cut the glass in half, that is still 2 pieces that will be
150lb. each.
