At the price you say, my 8", 0.7" thick mirror is worth $250 or therabout as
a blank... It's been good fun to grind and polish. FL is 42.32" (1075mm), F/D
is 5.26.
I'm slowly buiding a modern foucault tester with moving source to confirm its
optical quality (thus doubling or tripling its value, but piece not for sale
though).
I'd like to thank all the known and unknown people who contribute to sharing
information and software on this list and elsewhere.
I've uploaded one of the first foucault images I've taken. The source is a
470nm LED. The mirror seems to be quite dirty, and I hope it's not actually
that badly scratched. When I'm finished with the foucault readings (which
look somewhat promising), I might be all the more inclined to finish the
scope and mount. I envy some of you fast workers ;-)

Feedback welcome,
And a whole load of cheers to the list maintainers for the new upload
facility. It's working fine even from an antiquated, exotic and alien OS.
Cheers
