Just in case you haven't tried the two that have worked for me (albeit
with steel and iron) try soaking the porthole in a bucket of either
release-all or that magic home remedy Coca-Cola. Accept no substitutes
for the coke, we tried bargain brand stuff and it didn't work anywhere
near as well.
