   Oh no, very likely!  It happens all the time.  Most people who have a
hard time getting rid of it can't figure out how, when they avoid the edge,
they only make it worse or at least don't make progress.  Many times, this
is how it started to begin with.  It's happened to me plenty.  It's so easy
to leave it behind while trying to deepen your curve.
    Sure, a soft lap or the wrong stoke can turn an edge, but I'd be willing
to bet more TDE's are made by leaving them way behind than by polising them
too much.
