I have occasionally run into this behavior, too.  When I got it, it seemed to be
when I was running designs where I had modified the cell parts arrangement, like
reducing a 6 point cell to 5.  I figured I had just not quite got the setup correct.

Rotating isn't a big deal on bars, but is quite handy with isosceles triangles
to get the base down.

My guess is that there is a minor bug lurking in Plop that David hasn't managed
to track down yet.  I did mention it to him once.
