Re: [ATM] PLOP Calculations

The most complex cells preprogrammed in Plop have 27 support points.
Depending somewhat on the mirror thickness, it is possible that 27 point
support will not be sufficient.

I have a 54 point layout designed by John Dudgeon. Plop can optimize
this layout for your mirror. We need the rest of the mirror
specifications:.

glass type
diameter
thickness
focal length
secondary minor axis (diameter)
central hole diameter (if any)

The Plop setup is at
http://pong.telerama.com/~mdholm/atm/cells/54point.html

The only trick with this cell is the large and potentially confusing
number of dimensions to be specified. There are 4 or 5 different
triangles, some of which are not even isosceles and they are not at
obvious angles.. I am not at all sure I want to try writing out the
specs for this cell.

It is possible that a more symmetric, and easy to specify cell would
work. This one may take some work. A 46 inch mirror is worth the work
though.
