Re: ATM alt bearings
Lets see now, there's the:
Table saw method
Router with a jig
Shaper with a jig
Router with a radius bar
Jig saw with a radius bar and sanding
Jig saw with a string drawing and sanding
Freehand of various sorts with sanding to finish.
for making a circle in a piece of wood. All work to some degree or another
in making a circle of varying accuracy, oftentimes needing to have
subsequent work to finish the accuracy. Most of the problem is in what
tools that you have at hand. I've done circles completely by hand (a real
bear to do well), with a router and with the table saw and the table saw is
very easy with minimal setup stuff needed for the larger diameters and the
router with smaller diameters, even down to a few inches of diameter when
the router is mounted upside (like a shaper) down in a table. They all work
and the power ones that use some kind of a radius pin generally work the
best as they tend to not have any decisions as to where the line is to cut
to.
