Re: ATM Cutting half half circles in rocker box

First is to cut both curves at one time and make sure that the insides of
the box face each other! The use of a router with a circle jig is easy
although you can also make a round of the desired radius minus the diameter
of the bit to be used and use the bearing on the cutter to roll along the
jig. Rounds are easy to make on a table saw by putting a pin in the middle
of the board and spinning the board over the blade, gradually raising the
blade 1/8" or less at a turn. This makes a nice round with a arced edge on
the outside pieces. Be careful here as you are going to be cutting a fair
bit of wood and the only thing keeping things from flying is that you are
holding the work down and spinning it into the blade. You want to be
working from the side of the blade rather than the back (normal position) of
it.
