ATM More Tile Tool Questions

OK, how bad did I mess up? I cast a tool base from my blank using
anchoring cement and it came out pretty good except for a slight crevice
around about 1/8th of the circumference. I figured that the epoxy would
fill the gap nicely and it appears to have done a fair job. Next I epoxied
down 1x1 unglazed porcelain tiles slightly off center. Here's the problem.
The tiles along the edge on about 1/5th of the circumference (what would
be partial tiles when I finish cutting and grinding them back) didn't
adhere. This may be due to the crevice I described. I also noticed that
one tile about 3" in from the edge is slightly raised relative to the
others (~.1").

Here's the questions:

1) Do the tiles have to go all the way to the edge or are a few <<1" gaps
acceptable?

2) Does one raised tile need to be removed and re-expoxied or will it wear
down during hogging?

I know that I'm probably getting paranoid here but its my first mirror and
I wanted everything to be perfect.

Thanks for you help,

Adam R.
