SBIG announced some time ago that they had their hands on some
Kodak "beta" chips with a much improved blue response and were
considering selling some cameras with them.  This idea was dropped
after testing showed that the chips had substantially higher 
dark current than even the backlit chips. 

I don't know if these are the same chips as in the announcement,
however.
