That is not far from the truth, although his misogyny isn't needed.
If a person lets gravity do it's thing, all the particles of dust and grit
will stay pretty well put. I do clean my optical room (garage) once in a
while, but I won't begin grinding or polishing for a couple of days after.
The amount of dust raised is phenomenal.
