Hi Marcie, how about Christian Buil's "CCD Astronomy"? Contains a lot of basic information how CCD cameras work and some wiring diagrams for 2 cameras based on Thompson chips. Your husband can either modify the diagrams to accomodate more modern detector chips or develop his own using the basic information the book provides as guidelines. Best regards Gerd
