ATM Acceptable field curvature
Hi,
I am contemplating a small scope for photographic purposes only.
What would be an acceptable focal length/ focal ratio, such that the
field curvature is only just noticeable at the edge of the film ?
(assuming a plain Newtonian design and a 'standard' grade film)
For example would a 120mm (4.8"), f/5 be OK ?
It should be noted that I have no astro-photography experience.
(Note: If I am to build this scope, it would need to be done in
a short time frame, thus I don't have the time for a more
complicated design and am willing to accept some
compromises.)
