[ATM] The Sky Six Serial Protocol

I am in the process of adding a "goto" system on my 12.25" dob telescope 
using a Freescale HC12 processor. The Sky Six software on my laptop 
computer also has capability of controlling most "goto" telescopes using 
a serial connection. Sky Six supports 'goto' systems using Astronomy 
Control Language (ACL). I recall, years ago, seeing articles promoting 
ACL as a standard for computer control and have tried googling ACL but 
have not found any information on it. Can anyone provide details of the 
RS-232 serial protocol used by these 'goto' systems? The information I'm 
seeking is not RS-232 baud rate, stop bits, etc., but how to encode 
information relating to encoders, stepper commands etc., in the serial 
data stream.
