[ATM] The 1100 mm (43.3") f/4 telescope - Progress report
About a year after the start of the project, the 1100 mm (43.3") f/4
Cruxis telescope is beginning to look like a real telescope!
Here's a small picture of the assembled telescope:

The little red man next to the telescope gives you some idea about the
scale.
At www.cruxis.com/scope/scope1100.htm you'll find a lot more pictures
and descriptions of recent construction work: the open mirror box, the
54-point mirror cell, the innovative double cable sling mirror edge
support, the truss frame and the ventilation system that will blow air
into each of the 108 cells of the primary mirror.
As for the optics, the primary mirror design has been finalized and the
cellular mirror blank will be cast soon. The secondary mirror is fully
done and is now being coated.
It feels good when all the pieces of the puzzle start falling into
place!
Best wishes,
Robert Houdart
