Re: [ATM] ritchey cretians

Greetings Francis! and all!

I am very concerned about advertising here,(and only wish to follow rules)
and will be happy to answer any questions.

as for the quartz question: it is a fused silica piece, but lately I have
had trouble with the last 4 in my batch... I have 10-30 bubbles, all small
but will possibly anger an astronomer such as me.. garbage. I have heard
Raise the temp! let it heat longer!!! but really i am at a loss now, i did
that and then the quartz started changing properties, turned to a false
color, and simply got ugly. I wanted to stay away from pyrex, due to my love
of quartz for many reasons, but now I am all quartz, zerodur, or plate...

pyrex is almost a dream to work with, but like everything in my head once
something has a lot of hype there has to be a draw back (maybe not...) but
pyrex I can make sheets to 48" and 5"(almost) no problem... compared to
quartz.

What I am really looking for in this group is a quasi partner... someone
that built a 10-20 inch RC, and can assist getting me through my 48" initial
and once that is done hopefully move to bigger and better things. in return
they can get telescope goodies at non-astronomical rates.. that or i would
be happy to give frames, glass anything really for assistance.

I hope my comments are ok for the board, I am really looking for help in
this exciting venture.

I appreciate all comments and suggestions from everyone, and if anyone needs
help with supplies i can give a good suggestion ;)
Thanks!
Mikhail
