You can get special spray on lacquer from electronics shops like radio
shack, but to be honest, any varnish or lacquer you can buy in a can would
probably be fine.
I have dipped boards and drip dried them before, but the spray can stuff is
easier to manage :)
Just make sure that there are no mechanical things like switches or buzzers
etc that can get the stuff in it.
If you want it indestructible, use epoxy glue or casting resin to encase it
in a block. Of course, both these methods mean that it will be difficult to
"fix". Getting varnish or lacquer off so you can replace a part is not fun,
the solid "potted" block is worse :)
