Don't forget the last issure of the ATMJ where the guy flexed a
piece of glass and ended up with an off-axis parabola as a
result. He did it the ATM way with milk bottles filled with
water to get the right amount of flexing.
I'm philosophically against the off-axis parabola as it doesn't
give any real benifits in wide angle work as coma rears its ugly
head very fast but the idea is a nice one.
I'd prbably do a flexed mirror (I've got a 15" blank that I've
got to get to work on that would be nice for this) to do a decent
fast parabola on and I'l probably get a disk of aluminum and
attach the glass to that with a rubber ring and push on the back
to get the desired shape and then polish the parabola in.
