Nope nope nope.  I mean, yup, that's what they say about grinding 
large mirrors, but that's not what I'm talking about.  I mean the 
mirror cell, in the telescope, in use.  IIRC a lot of the old, big, 
plate-glass dobs just had the mirror resting on carpet, on plywood, 
with edge clips.

Possibly not the ideal solution, but it certainly had simplicity and 
ease going for it.
