That would explain the reason then for multiple point
systems. I got confused because I kept seeing designs
where the points weren't actually glued to the mirror.
Some were, some weren't. Some used a retaining wire,
some didn't... 

But it would make sense to support the mirror with a
multiple point rear system which was actually attached
to the back of the mirror to keep the edge off the
mirror cell. So then, I would guess this would be the
primary reason to use a multiple-point system...

Unless I can come up with some other nifty idea... :)
