Actually, we are not in any particular hurry to get onto finer grains, We 
are more concerned about doing the job right without damaging the glass more 
than necessary.

I reviewed my earlier notes concerning my pre-generated seven inch blanks 
which I am making into optical flats.

I was required to go back to 220 grit to get the generation marks out of the 
glass. I probably should have gone back further, although now all of the 
generation marks are gone..

I am going to tell Joan that she should start with 120 grit and just keep 
going through all of the nine fine grits. The mirror and tool will come into 
conformity soon enough.
