We use Newport pregenerated curve blanks for the MidAtlantic Mirror making
workshop...
we start with 220 for about 7-10 wets and move to
25Micron AlOx,
12Micron AlOx,
5Micron AlOx,
polishing pads/CEOX,
and then pitch/CEOX.
Over the years this has proven to be a sequence that consistently yields
highly polished mirrors and a very high success rate of finished mirrors
during the workshop
And most of the mirrors are well-figured causing a considerable amount of
envy.

Start with 320 and short strokes and you will see how well the curves
match
in a short time. If they aren't matching well you will see zones in the
ground surface. If it looks like you will be taking too long at 320 you
can
go to 220 or so without having to clean up from the finer grit.

tool of matching ROC.
We have virtually every grade of abrasive used by ATM's available.
