I wouldn't bother with the additional grits. Unless you aree
very prolifigate with your grit, you'll have enough for several
mirrors with what you have now.
The only grit that goew up markedlly with a shorter FL is the
initial grit, usually the 80 grit as this is what is used to hog
out the hole in the glass and thus, the shorter the FL, the more
glass you need to remove. The other option is to grab a diamond
wheel and do the majority of the glass removal with that. This
way, the need for the 80 grit goew way down and is only needed to
make the tool mate with the glass.
I find that six to ten wets done well are all that is needed in
each grit sie once you start going down through the grits.
FWIUW, I find with grinders that it is about three to six hours
for the initial grinding to a curve with a pipe cap and 80 grit
to get about a F6 depth on a ten inch blank. After that, it is
usually about an hour per grit size to go down through the grits.
