More or less. It's known as Prestons constant and is C in the
following Prestons polishing equation :
dz = C.P.V.dt
dz(p,a) = Absolute glass removal at mirror position p, a
C = Proportionality constant in microns/hour/PSI/(meters/sec)
P = Local pressure (varies across tool/lap when it overhangs edge)
V = Instantaneous velocity of tool/lap element relative to mirror surface
dt = time
