But half an inch on a 28 incher is only 0.04 magnitudes gain, which nobody 
can see. And 0.2 inch on a 6" is  0.07 magnitudes gain, which will also not 
be noticable.

Indeed. I think that's one reason why enhanced coatings aren't recommended
much. Unless doing astrophotography or something where the gain is more
measurable.
