[ATM] R.E.Brandt telescopes

All telescope makers,

Most of the atm list know of me as the originator of micro-flexing as an easy means for making highly corrected telescope mirrors of unusual smoothness. My best performance is a 13.2" F4.8 Newt. It easily resolves many of the stars in the core of M13. But - - - -

I also own an R.E.Brandt 10" F17 folded refractor on an Astroworks mount that provides still better resolution. Bummer!
No, X that out. Just Jealousy.

Brandt made one-off telescopes to order in Prescott AZ. until he died in 1986. I'm 90 years old and have made and used very many telescopes since I made my first in 1927. I have never encountered anything that would exceed the Brandt for resolution.

There must be many more Brandt telescopes around and I'd like to find out where they are. I'm not trying to buy them, I'd just like to know more about these extraordinary instruments, the man who made them and perhaps establish a SIG group. This wonderful optician's name needs to be honored and preserved.

Can you help me, please?

Bill Kelley
