Horace, first make sure that the tiles are hard clear through.  If the
tiles are glazed, there is the possibility that they are fairly soft
under the glaze.  If they are floor tiles, they are probably hard but it
doesn't hurt to check.  If the tiles are OK, don't bother to remove the
glaze.  It will be removed during the grinding process while the tiles
are ground to conform to the mirror surface.
