If the glass in vertical position on the stand, supported on two points,
"bends over" and therefore looks astigmatic, than if the same glass
will be hung by the same two points (now on the upper half) it will
go in the opposite direction. The axis of astigmatism (if any) will be at
right angle
to the previous one. This simple test may be convincing and perhaps
better than rotation because test will see the same figure with superimposed
and changed ast.
