[ATM] 16" RCC primary

Hello Everyone,

      I started a RCC project some month ago.The system includes a 16"
      f/4
primary, which is right now at the state of paraboloid. But this
      system needs an hyperboloid primary.
Before this project I have finished several cassegrain system
from 12" to 16" using my 20" diam. flat mirror. I can test the
whole system in autocollimation, no problem. But the primary is
not testable in this way. I don't want to make a Hindle sphere,
so I need another method to figure out when will be arrived the
desired hyperboloid shape. Do you have any ideas???????????????
Actually the telescope will be used for extragalactic
supernova searching, using a CCD chip, the detector size
is about 0.5x0.5 inch. I am not sure that a normal
cassegrain would be able to make a coma-free picture in
this small area. Maybe a small hyperbolising without any
measure would be enough, and than nulling the system by
the secondary. Of course the surface of the primary will
be checked for irregualities and zone errors.
What is your opinion, maybe that is the right way?

   Clear skies!
