What do you expect. If stand induced astig is what is seen, than strap
can not remove it, perhaps modify but not remove, because the situation
is basically not changed by sling usage.
It will be changed by testing the mirror as recommended by Gary

But your mirror is 15.5 inch f/6 that means you will need 5 meters
of space for test, right. I hope you will manage this because what
you are doing is very interesting and I cant remember it was ever done
in this way AND reported to the list.
