Re: [ATM] Support for slumped mirror

The ancient way of supporting a THIN mirror may still be the best way. Using a suitable backing (other mirror blank, well sealed hardwood disk, metal etc), the ATM would attach the THIN disk to the backing plate with many small dots of pitch (1/4 dia). The backing plate attachment resists quick flexure while allowing long term changes to be accomodated by the pitch. A slumped blank could be attached in this way to a concave molded dental plaster backing plate to give the thin mirror blank the needed support.
