Let me take a shot at that - "if the scope was packed and thrown in 
the water, it is so well packed that few bubbles would come out" - I 
think.  In other words, efficient use of space.

It is a great scope.  I'm still wondering how large the altitude 
bearings are, and if the poles are transported in one piece or if they 
come apart.
