You can get 1/2" x 12" feeler gage stock from most industrial suppliers
in thicknesses from .001-.030 for under a buck each. You can drill or
punch holes in it relatively easily and can cut it with tin snips to
length.
For example on the KBC Tools website they have a dozen for $11.91 or
