[ATM] AtmosFringe Demo
Hi all,
I am the author of a new Interferogram analysis software called AtmosFringe
Atmos was the name of my first program (an appreciated lens design software)
so I decided to include it as suffix in this new program. I started to write
AtmosFringe last summer .In that period I was just starting to build my own
interferometer (a Ceravolo type interferometer) and realized that I needed a
program for analizying the interferograms images. After searching on the Net
I noticed that professional software were too expensive (the cheapest cames
at $1500 !!) and the only one available for free was FringeXP.
I must admit that Fringe XP was an important tool for me and for many people
but I noticed that it was lacking in several features (obstruction,PSF,MTF
analisys)and also its interface didn't satisfy me. So I decided to try to
write my own program even if it was a big challenge.
I have to thanks to Dave Rowe ,the author of FringeXP,for his invaluable
support in the first stage of my work in that period.
As any programmer knows it is not possible to write any piece of code without
having clear in your mind all that you are going to do. Anyway I followed my
personal coding method but his help was a very important moment for starting
in the right way.
Thanks to Roland Christen collaboration (he is the well-known owner of Astro-
Physics and dealer of Atmos ) at the end of 2004 the program was at a good
point but I mainly have to thanks Wolfgang Rohr for the big work we did together
over the last few weeks on AtmosFringe .
I knew Wolfgang by chance ,browsing on the Net, and ,in spite of the fact that
I don't understand Deutch language ,I decided to write him just after giving
a look at his website (I was captured from the Bath interferometer and his
ability in optical testing). In few days we started a deep and useful cooperation:
Wolfgang continuosly tested AtmosFringe and reported me any bug he found and also
gave me some suggestions and advices . Then I fixed the bugs ,upgraded my program
and re-sent it to Wolfgang. And so on. This is a very important step by step
process which is still continuing for improving the program.
The program has required and requires a lot of hard work so it is not free.
However it cames at a very affordable price if compared with other Interferogram
software. Its price will be 200 euro for Europe.

how to install the Atmos Fringe Demo:
- open a new folder anywhere
- start the link http://amplitude.fa.to/AtmosFringeDemo.zip
- save the AtmosFringeDemo.zip file in your folder
- change to your folder click AtmosFringeDemo and AtmosFringeDemo DateiOrdner
- start setup step by step
- change Directory to your folder
- press the button and install AtmosFRingeDemo
- go back till you see the program and start it
