Re: [ATM] Bowed Flexure

There was some doubt expressed if one could measure better than 1 division
(0.0001") with the Starrett 25-511 dial indicator. I repeated the tests
with the bowed flexure using a B&S 981 electronic TDI and 982 analog display
and found the results that compare well with the Starrett dial indicator.
Scale was set to +-300 millionths of an inch with each division 10
millionths of an inch. Pictures of the display and TDI

A single or multiple stage bowed flexure would allow easily built very small
displacement programmable positioner using stepper motor or voice coil
actuator.
