OK, now you guys got me thinking bad thoughts.... :)

If I were to super glue some contact wires to the back of an optic, then 
evaporate a hefty amount of Copper onto the backside of the mirror, would it 
work as a dew heater?

The copper layer would end up pretty thin, which might be an advantage as it 
would increase the resistance some what.

I wonder if I can evaporate stainless steel..  Seems to have a pretty high 
receptivity value, and then there is Platinum, with even higher resistivity...

Could be an interesting experiment....
