[ATM] Help with Mirror

Hi,

I think your interpretation is correct. There was just a long discussion on
this list about how to get rid of TDE. Essentially the radius of the outer
1/2" looks longer than the inner region. The thing to do is try to extend
the inner region to the edge of the mirror.

I thought the best solution I saw was to put the tool on top and use
pressure on the tool edge to selectively polish the region just inside of
the TDE. But there were other techniques listed, such as using a small
diameter lap to achieve the same effect.

I am not sure how to search the archives, but if you do a google search on
ATM and archive you should find it.

Is this your first mirror? Don't be afraid to experiment as you will learn a
lot from it, and there is really no danger of doing permanent damage to your
mirror. One piece of advice which ran through the thread was most people
recommended doing a warm press (raise the temperature of the lap and mirror
slightly in warm water) before very short sessions of polishing.

So everything you learn can be used on your next mirror which I am sure will
be a bigger one!

Good luck
