[ATM] A question about angular size at a distance.

I would like to print a test pattern out that could be placed
some distance away from a telescope and use this to be
a reference to the ability of a scope to resolve a given
seperation. Specifically I wish to compare a few of my
and others scopes side by side and compare ability to
resolve the tiniest increment they can.
Has anybody here had any experience or thoughts on this?
I was thinking in the neighborhood of 100 yards or so in
distance. It should be relatively simple to calculate the
angular resolution of the scope (under the circumstances
it is within at the test) by simply measuring the distance
to scope, and the size of the 'mark' on the print out, no?
thanks,
