RE: ATM Overcorrected Mirror

A steep edge is an overcorrected edge. The correct z2,z3 are actually too
high as measured from the edge.
Try an even shorter stroke to allow the edge of the lap to stop and reverse
over the crest of the outer high zones. this will make the edge seem to
come up relatively, and move towards the sphere.

Local pressure with TOT will allow you to concentrate wear at this crest,
followed by smoothing strokes, will possibly make it go quicker.

Subject: ATM Overrcorrected Mirror

Hello,

I have been working my 8" mirror to try to get a proper figure on it. I had
originally worked the mirror to overcorrected. I have been spending my time
trying to fix this problem. I have been working with 1/4 COC strokes with
TOT.
Last nights effort has the mirror at about 1/2 wave. It seems that the z1-z3
are close to the proper readings, but the edge zone is way overrcorrected
still. Is this a TDE or just an overcorrected zone? Should I keep bringing
it to a sphere with the COC strokes or try some stroke to fix the edge?

Thanks

Robert
